Character Exploration

Just some videos from our character exploration project. Not very happy with the hands on the character, or the dress/neckarea... but the face worked out well :)

Enviroment, I just wish I had more time to make more props for it!

Wip - Scene

Still haven't got my character textured, however I thought I'd move onto the props for the scene, with the hope that the change of working-process will stop me getting stuck in a rut with different aspects!

Not textured yet, but some props I've been making for a little cramped shop.

Also wanted to make a skull for her desk, so I've been playing around with zbrush for a bit to see what you can do with it. First time I've actually made something in zbrush, and discovered that it's actually a really nice program once you get used to it!

Wip - Character

She needs a name, and texturing, and many other things, but I'm working on it :)

'Animating Animals'

Finished 4-legged and winged animal for the project 'animating animals'.

I'm a lot less happy with the dove, though I think there are quite a lot of texture issues (and some minor anatomy issues) with the snow leopard, however I'm quite happy with the quality of it's face. However I am quite happy with the way I'm progressing with 3dsmax, hopefully I can continue to progress at a good rate.

experiments

I have some marker pen experiments, not entirely sure how much I like them, but I think it's the better of the life drawings I've done recently. First time I've actually used markers too, which was interesting, not sure how I feel about them at the moment. Will remove fingers in the photos probably tonight, but wanted to get them up before I caught a train.

WIP - Snow Leopard

Currently working on a snow leopard for uni, we had to team up with an animator, pick an animal, and then she needs to rig/animate it, and I need to model it!

Went to the zoo and saw looots of snow leopard :)

This is what I have currently, need to attach the head, finish the tail, and the feet, give it ears, then realise that some sort of fundamental part of the anatomy is wrong... but hey, it's all planned for...

Long Long Ago

We had a quick project on character modelling, and... well, these are the results. I would have preferred to have had it as a single mesh, but as we weren't being taught to skin (or unwrap for texturing), so the model and texturing is pretty simple and segmented.  If I could go back and change anything, it'd be the head shape, it's a bit long at the top I think. My favourite part of the model is the base... this might make me slightly strange. I'm not entirely sure I enjoy character modelling as much as environments, but I'll find out as I continue to model more.

(Edit: I've noticed the video quality on these isn't that great, I just want to point out he has buttons for eyes!)
