The Mystic's Dream

There's a little snow storm outside my window. Sometimes the 20th floor is wondrous <3

Finished my first environment on Monday in time for the deadline, and am quite pleased with it. I learned a lot of new things about modelling, and while I can see some key things I'd change now (the trees, the weeds so they aren't all separate planes x-x gods what was I thinking? And probably change the tents a bit, add a rug... so many things! Oh, maybe a lamp.), I'm generally quite happy with the modelling. Texturing a little less so to be honest, I learnt tons of new stuff, but I think only some of it was pulled off really well. And... lighting... I still hate lighting. Lighting is a bitch and I have no idea how it works. So, more lighting practice needed!

Now, I'll get onto completing that character I'm meant to be modelling...

Naked people time

Just posting up a few sketches from my life drawing stuff. Need to work out how to take photos within my bedroom... the light is pretty bad, but I think the drawings show. Now, back to working on my environment for Monday!

Bloggitybloggityblog?

Not entirely sure what to say in this post, the first post, the obviously horrible no matter what you blog post. I can either say why I'm starting a blog, set up some aims and objectives, but it's pretty self-explanatory, or I can just jump in head first and start talking about what I'm making, but I don't feel rather comfortable with that either. Ah, indecision.

Currently I'm working on my first environment for a uni project, which I should really be getting on with right now. I'll be putting some pictures up from that sometime next week once it's all done.

Anyway, have some pictures. These were from our week-long introduction to modelling project, where we had to modelled and textured a bowl of fruit (if I have to tell you that's what it is... well, I think I may have failed.), struggled a little getting to grips with 3d max, but I think by the end of the project I had learn a lot about the basics (apart from lighting, which I really need to work on.)
